Pristine snorkelling coral reefs can be found off the beach at Mantaray Island Resort, offering private and dormitory accommodation in traditional bures on Nanuya Balva Island. The first day I asked the resort dive instructor where's the best snorkelling, the instructor said just off the beach, I thought he was joking, so said seriously I am a photographer and would like to see the best, where the instructor said again off the beach. Unbelieving I geared up and went off the beach, snorkelling out across the shallows thinking that this will be like the many resort beach snorkels I have done and will be back in 10 mins. Four hours later I was still out exploring and taking photos, I was amazed it was the best resort beach coral reef snorkel I had ever done. The water was clear and not to deep, there were even small gorgonian fans and loads of fish. Well worth the effort to get out to the Yasawa islands. Fiji.
