In the shallows about 2 metres deep at Burgess island there is Luscious beds of seaweeds and kelp, Once in deeper water of 3 metres of more all the seaweed and kelp has gone, leaving just boulders covered in a thin vineer of brown algae. Mokohinau Islands. Hauraki Gulf
