The last stands of seaweed with a large area of rocky barrens devoid of seaweeds & kelp. These regions were covered in kelp & seaweeds. The kelp & seaweeds eaten by an exploding kina population, where the fish & crayfish that consumed these urchins when they were small have been removed from over fishing.
